2008 Sprint Kart Speedway Results

Friday, September 19, 2008

We saw some great racing Friday night on one of the nicest late summer nights of the season.

The Kid Karts saw Brandt Carter take the lead from the drop of the green flag and stretch out a big lead to the checkers. The rest were Alec Smith, Ashton Wheeler, Oden McDonald and Shane Brieman.

In the JR I Briggs, Braydon Doberenor not only won the feature, but took first place in his two heat races. He was dialed in all night long, finishing ahead of Logan Ralston. The final week of 2008 will decide the track champion. Dalton Weedon finished third and has developed into a good racer in his first year of racing. He has showed a lot of promise in the Yamaha class driving for Petersen Plumbing. Colon Chalupa finished 4th.

Austin Fulton got back in the winners circle in the JR I Yamaha class getting past Carter Hagen for the first time in about 6 weeks. Rounding out the rest of the field were Dalton Weedon, Jarred Dodds and Brandt Carter, who moves up from the Kids Kart class next year.

In the Sportsman class, Garrett Bouchard took the main followed by Quentin Fischein, Max Nimerick and Richard Trehoff.

In the Adult Animal class, once again it was Erick Untiedt ahead of brother Geoff Untiedt followed by Cody Trehoff and Richard Trehoff.

Next week will be the 2008 Season Championship. The awards banquet is set for October 17th at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, Davenport. All racers, family and friends are welcome. The awards are sponsored by Petersen Plumbing and Mark Chalupa. We thank you!
