2007 Sprint Kart Speedway Results

Friday, September 21, 2007 - "Season Championship 2007"

There was a huge crowd of spectators of over 400 people who turned out to witness some of the very best races of the 2007 season. The kart count pushed 40 and they put on a great show for the fans.

The Briggs Jr. I class was the most exciting class of the night. Jonathan Brauns took the first heat followed closely by points leader Logan Ralston, and Brandon Keller. Heat number 2 saw Braydon Doberenor work his way into the lead, looked clear, and would take the checkered when all of a sudden, on the white flag lap, slowed...thinking it was the end of the race. He finished 3rd giving the win to Colon Purcell.

It was the feature that turned out to be the very best race of the entire season. Logan Ralston took the lead from the start and was closely followed by Jonathan Brauns the entire race who just couldn't get by, followed by Doberenor close in third. The white flag was shown and as they came down the front straight-a-way Brauns pulled along side of Ralston running side by side as they scuffed each other a bit. All of a sudden Doberenor made it 3 wide and nipped them both as they crossed the finished line. This turned out to be the very best race of the season and left everyone talking what a great race it was.

The 2007 Season Championship races were topped off by the awards at the finish line. There were pictures taken by parents and fans and everyone is looking forward to 2008.

The 2007 Awards Banquet is set for October 19th 2007 at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, anyone who would like to attend please contact Spider Duffy at 563-324-7770. The cost is $15.
