The Clone "Blue Motor" ClassIn the Clone "Blue Motor" Class, the only motor allowed is a Blue 6.5 HP which is purchased from Harbor Freight. It must be right out of the box with no modifications other then what is allowed by the Sprint Kart Speedway. Any other motor is allowed in any other class as long as there are at least three in the class. The reason for the Blue Clone Class is to keep the cost of kart racing down. Sprint Kart Speedway Makes DonationJune 29th, at the Mid-Season Championship race, the Sprint Kart Speedway made a donation to the Bret Miller Scholarship Fund in the amount of $500.00. The check was presented to Bret's Dad, Steve Laughlin, by Promoter Spider Duffy. Bret Miller, who started his racing at The Sprint Kart Speedway, passed away this summer in an auto accident and his family wanted to start a scholarship in his name at North Scott High School for a student who had a interest in auto mechanics. As his dad said, Bret was a gear head and he wanted to do this for him. The track took up donations in his name, then Spider added in some cash and the track matched the amount to make it $500 that will be given to a student in Bret's name. Bret had a love for cars and racing. His Go-Kart number was 56, the same a local dirt tracker Gary Webb. The Sprint Kart Speedway also placed black stickers on everyones Kart in memory of Bret with the number 56 and his name on it. Our hearts go out to Bret and his family. Steve Duffy
